Facebook, MySpace and other Web 2.0 sites are no longer for the teenagers. Your employees are already actively collaborating on these sites. Web 2.0 and advent of mainstream mobility has compromised the existing corporate perimeter in profound ways. Old security architectures don’t work in a world where applications/resources are off-premise, mobile access is ubiquitous and Corporate IT is “consumerized”. The confluence of these trends has led to the rise of new threats. During this discussion, we explored the nature of these threats and why the corporate perimeter is no longer effective. We also reviewed different approaches employed to handle the challenges of securing the emerging Web 2.0 environment.
